Transform Your Lawn and Reap the Rewards with MWD's Cash for Grass Program

Whether you're a green-thumbed environmentalist or a novice gardener looking to pitch in for the planet, there's never been a better time to revamp your lawn into a drought-resistant paradise.

Through the Metropolitan Water District's (MWD) innovative Cash for Grass program, your move towards a more sustainable yard isn't just good for the Earth—it's also kind to your wallet.

A Lush Landscape Without the Guilt (or the Grass!)

Picture this: a serene, verdant landscape that manages to thrive while conserving water — a personal oasis contributing to a greener future. By swapping out thirsty turf for beautiful, native Californian plants, you're not only crafting an idyllic space but contributing significantly to our collective effort to address climate change.

The Financial and Environmental Bloom

Removing grass can lead to staggering water savings — up to 76 gallons per square foot! Multiply that by the size of your average lawn, and you'll start to see why this is such an impactful choice for both the environment and your annual budget.

Plus, with MWD's generous rebate offer, starting at $2 per square foot, even a modest lawn transformation could net you a minimum of $500. Depending on the scope of your project and your location, you could see a return of up to $10,000 or more. That's a sizable seed fund for your future eco-utopia!

Starting March 4, 2024, the rewards for the Turf Replacement Program get even better! Applicants can now get an extra $100 for each tree they install, up to $500 for 5 trees, on top of the existing incentive.
