Get up to $1,000 back on a home EV charger
Important update: Many of the IRA home incentives discussed below have changed or are ending due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (signed July 4, 2025). For the most up-to-date information, including which credits remain valid and new deadlines, please refer to the IRS’s OBB Act FAQs page.
Get charging
An electric vehicle (EV) charging station is specially designed to charge batteries of EVs. They provide fuel for vehicles, but instead of gas or diesel, it's electricity from your home!
The IRA qualifies you for a new tax credit when you installing charging equipment at home. Hardware and installation, including upgrades to your electrical panel needed as a result of the installation, are all covered!
What’s the gist?
How to save - Claim the tax credit for up to 30% of the costs, up to $1,000.
Who qualifies? - Households in rural and low-income communities.
When is it available? - Now through the end of 2032.
